Blunt Cut
Client's Request: Blunt Cut, above bra strap
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Medium
- Length: Waistline
- Previous Color: Hair was previously colored
- Home Care Routine: No set Routine
- Washing Frequency: Washes hair every 3rd day
Prep and Cut
*Shampoo and Condition hair
*Part in four even sections, two at the front and 2 at the back
*Start at the back of the head with the client's head tilted forward
*Part the first section at the nape of the head and make a straight cut using shears
*hair is at a 0 degree angle
*Use the first section you cut as a guide for the rest of the hair.
*After cutting all sections, comb through hair to check if the cut is even.
*Blow dry hair straight then add some curls using a curling iron or flat iron
Uniform Layers
Client's Request: Uniform layers (minimal)
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Fine
- Length: Mid-back
- Previous Color: Previously colored hair
- Home Care Routine: No set routine
- Washing Frequency: Washes hair every 3rd day
Prep and Cut
*Shampoo and Condition hair
*Part in four even sections, two at the front and 2 at the back
*To establish client's desired length, a blunt cut is necessary
*At the back of the head, take vertical sections straight down the nape and cut at a 90-degree angle
*Do the same for front sections
*Cross check hair cut periodically
Styling
Round brush hair for a blowout look
Medium Layers
Client's Request: Medium Layers, shoulder length
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Medium- coarse
- Length: Waistline
- Previous Color: Never colored. Virgin hair
- Home Care Routine: No at-home hair care routine in place
- Washing Frequency: Washes hair every week
Prep and Cut
*Dry cut hair close to the desired length
*Shampoo and Condition hair
*Part in four even sections, two at the front and 2 at the back*Starting at the back, take vertical sections 90 degrees from the nape of the head and follow the shape of the head to the crown of the head
*Cross check hair cut periodically
* add face-framing layers after the entire cut
Style
*Blowdry entire hair with a round brush
* texturize by point cutting to blend layers better
*use a flat iron to give curls
High-top fade
Client's Request: High-top fade
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Coily, coarse
- Length: close cut
- Previous Color: Never colored
- Home Care Routine: None
- Washing Frequency:
Preparation and Application
*shampoo and condition hair
*make sure the hair is dry before cutting
*Using clippers, start with the lowest guard (0)
*Create a line from the right temple connecting to the left temple with 0 guard closed
*Above that first line, follow the same step with a .5 guard
*Continue until the line is completely blended
*Use T-trimmer for sharp hair line
Pixie Cut
Client's Request: Pixie cut
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Caorse
- Length: Shoulder
- Previous Color: previously colored
Prep and Cut
*Shampoo and condition hair
*Section hair connecting right and left temple.
* At the back and the sides, take diagonal sections to the neck and cut at an angle.
*Repeat the previous step until the bottom half is complete
*For the top half, establish a horizontal guide in the middle.
*Use that guide to cut on each side of the top
*Cross-check periodically to ensure even blending
Styling
*Blowout using fingers to fluff and guide
*Use a paste to personalize the haircut
Mushroom Cut
Client's Request: Mushroom cut
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Medium
- Length: Short (neck)
- Previous Color: previously colored hair
Prep and Cut
*Shampoo and condition hair
*Section hair connecting right and left temple.
*Use Clippers to fade the bottom half
*For the top half use razor to cut, with triangle sections from the crown
*Use Scissors-over-comb to blend the bottom half with the top half
Styling
*Blow dry hair using a Denman brush.
*Brush in the direction to create a mushroom look

Client's Request: Side part/Comb over
Client Profile:
- Hair Type: Medium
- Length: Short
- Previous Color: Previously colored

*Shampoo and condition hair
*Section hair connecting right and left temple.
* Take diagonal sections to the neck at the back and the sides and cut at an angle.
*Repeat the previous step until the bottom half is complete
